Our Story
What was once the old petrol station of Russell - as a lot of people still remember and you only have to have a look at the sidewalk to see the lids of the old fuel tanks still present - is now a unique little giftshop called WOOD2WATER.
With more than 140 islands of the Bay of Islands in our backyard, surrounded by lush forests, deserted beaches and blue waters, WOOD2WATER aims to celebrate Russell’s and Northlands heritage and beauty, by offering a range of honestly handcrafted goods.
We are really proud to represent and support a wide range of local, talented craftsmen and artists, with each one of them creating original high quality gifts. From beautiful wooden chopping boards and colorful leather handbags to funky jewelry and yummy marmalades, just to name a few.
Ethical, sustainable, upcycled and educational are some of the other attributes we keep in mind when sourcing and choosing new products for the store. As a result we feel like we have created this gorgeous little store, which is just a bit different, for you to find the perfect gift!
As a little reminder, we only have a selection of all our wonderful products available on this website. So, if you have seen something in the store which you can’t find on our website, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We might still have that particular item available or we can get in touch with the supplier to see if another one can be made. .
